Tyler Brulé loves Beirut and so do I. After my first visit in 2000 for Wallpaper, I had the chance to photograph
the Ashrafieh neighborhood once again in 2008 for a Monocle title story. It is still beautiful, though the crude
changes, done by freestyle real-estate politics in recent years, are omnipresent.
